Constraints for Defining the Temperament of A‘Ḍā’ Mufrada (Simple Organs)

Abstract


Purpose: This work is done to test, validate, and form factual modalities to find out the temperament of simple organs with the help of different kinds of physiological properties. Background: The temperament of simple organs described by Unani scholars is in accordance to biophysical entities, and they also had been discussed that those organs whose blood supply is more, are more in hotness and it’s vice versa. And the organs whose blood supply is moderate, they possess hotness and coldness with respect to blood content. Likewise, some other parameters had been described that will be illustrated in detail in this paper. Material and methodology: Classical Unani literature regarding the topic has been searched to find out the parameters upon which temperaments of simple organs are based. After that, these parameters are explained and justified under the knowledge available till now. Conclusion: It is very much promising that the logical approach initiated by Unani scholars is the basic entity to understand the temperament of simple organs.
