Abstract

Aim: The present study was intended to evaluate the effect of Ghazae Husn Afza in Busoore labaniya (Acne vulagaris) in Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) workers. Methods: The present study was unblended non-randomized open intervention trial accomplished among MSME workers and comparison relief in Busoore labaniya. The duration of the present study was one year from December 2018 to December 2019. The workers of MSME with Busoore labaniya were enrolled aged between 18 and 30 years with sample size of 50. The intervention drug was used as a local application below the ear for hypersensitivity reaction before intervention trial. All the dried ingredients were ground into powdered form and sieved through 100 No. meshes. The obtained powder was added to raise essence and stored in a jar. A paste of Ghazae Husn Afza (10 g) was made with the help of water and applied locally over the face at bed time (night) and advised to wash it off in the next morning with lukewarm water for one month. All subjects were assessed on the basis of scale change in subjective parameters that is, Likert scale (tenderness, irritation and itching) and objective parameters (Cook’s grading scale) for Busoore labaniya (Acne vulgaris). Results: The response of intervention drug was statistically strongly significant (P < 0.001) by using Wilcoxon repeated measure test. In spite of that, relief in subjective parameters was also observed. Scale improvement observed in subjective parameters—82.61%, 76.92% and 80.0% of subjects reported reduced tenderness, irritation and itching, respectively. Conclusion: The present study revealed that intervention drugs formulation was found safe and very much effective in the treatment of Busoore labaniya.
