Purification of Gandhagam: Science of Exception and Excellence
Abstract
Ayurveda and Siddha. It is believed to have great medicinal properties since ancient times. However, the science behind the ancient processing method of gandhagam in milk was often questioned. The solubility of gandhagam and its purification method is the most intriguing and less defined. In the current study, the science behind the purification process and its evaluation before and after purification was studied. Organoleptic characters and anti-microbial activity of purified and crude gandhagam was studied and results are presented in the paper.
