Effects and Awareness of Substandard and Counterfeit Medicines in Indian Scenario

Abstract


In the last decade many cases of counterfeit medicine have been discovered. Studies on privacy and counterfeiting have suggested that up to 20% of all drugs sold in the Indian market are counterfeit. Due to this high counterfeit medication rate the reliability of medical domain is degrading. Drug manufacturers and distributors are increasingly investing in counter-measures, such as traceability and authentication technologies, to try to minimize the impact of counterfeit drugs. In this study, we are presenting an awareness study of counterfeit drugs among different people and how counterfeit medicines are harming human body, and day by day making our body resistant to drugs. The study also focuses on finding a proper solution for counterfeit drugs prevention using block chain technology.
