Abstract

Dentofacial skeletal deformity is a complex problem presenting with various esthetic and functional problems. It influences the social and psychological development of the patient, and can play an important part in their social activities and interpersonal relationships. In addition to the intricacy of the problem, high expectations of the patient make the treatment of such deformities a challenging task. There are various options today for management of complex dentofacial skeletal deformity which include combined orthodontic and orthognathic surgical treatment planning. In this article, the authors present one such case of skeletal Class III malocclusion with asymmetry of lower third of face which was successfully managed by interdisciplinary approach.
