Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma: A Case Report
Abstract
Reactive lesions of the gingiva are common oral complaints and presentations. These include a variety of lesions such as the peripheral ossifying fibroma, peripheral giant cell granuloma, the pyogenic granuloma etc. Among these, the peripheral ossifying fibroma, which commonly occurs in young female subjects, occurs in the maxillary gingiva of the anterior region. It is uncommon to find it in male subjects as well as in elderly. The case being reported is rare as it occurred in the mandibular gingiva in an elderly male subject.
