Attitude towards Computerized Nursing Care Plan (CNCP) among Nursing Students

Abstract


Integration of computer technology in health care industries requires objective and information on how nurses perceive the use of computers and the factors affecting the attitudes towards technology. Use of nursing care plan is a neglected part under nursing practice due to multiple reasons. A descriptive study was conducted with the aim to assess the attitude of nursing students towards the computerized nursing care plan in the selected nursing institution of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The Sample of the study included 110 nursing students of Basic B.Sc. and Post-Basic Nursing students selected by convenient sampling technique. The structured attitude questionnaire (5-point Likerts’ Scale) was employed to assess the attitude of nursing students towards the computerized nursing care plan and the findings revealed that majority of the subjects 96 (87%) had favorable attitude towards computerized nursing care plan.
