Abstract

Antibodies play an important role in preventing infectious disease and diminution of the chance of reinfections. Newly, the source of IgY is an effective method to develop antibodies to various diseases in humans or animals in future. IgY extracted from egg yolk collected from previously immunized white leghorn chickens and purification was done by precipitation and affinity chromatographic system. In-vivo studies were carried out in Wister rats which were divided in five groups. It was found that IgY antibodies (400 and 600 μl) pre-incubated with antigens (200 μl) can effectively prevent the formation of dental caries.
