Cure Fraction Estimation for Traumatic Lumbar Puncture in Patients with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Gurprit Grover, Arpan Kumar Thakur, Bhawna Garg

Abstract

The foremost aim of this research was to estimate the proportion of long-term survivors for traumatic and bloody lumbar puncture in patients suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). To decide the resonance point of platelet for predicting traumatic event the receiver operating characteristics curve was used. Logistic regression and Cox proportional hazard regression was used to detect risk factors for the traumatic event and any relapse, respectively. To appraise the overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used; the same curve has plateau at the right tail which connotes the felicity of cure rate model. Cure fraction and underlying model parameters were obtained using Open BUGS software, and all other analysis (ROC curve, logistic regression, and Cox-PH) was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0.
