Incisional Hernia in Lumber Region after Iliac Crest Bone Graft
Abstract
Bone graft harvesting from the iliac crest is a common procedure. Herniation through an iliac crest defect is a rare complication of this procedure. Surgical repair is required to avoid the risk of incarceration or strangulation. We report the case of a 40-year-old male who developed hernia through the iliac crest defect after bone graft harvesting. This was managed by repair of iliac crest defect with a Proline mesh.
