A Study to Evaluate the Relationship Between the Depth and Extent of Burn Injury with Sepsis

Abstract

In our mortuary, the authors get a lot of cases of bun injury. Among these, most of the deceased die because of the septicaemic shock. Cases of survival after having 45% burn injury also have been reported in our area and in our mortuary, the authors have even got cases with only 10% burn injury (site included face) died due to septicemias. In most of the septicaemic deaths, the burn injuries are superficial. So, there may be some relationship in depth and extent of burn injuries with septicemias. In our present study, the authors have tried to find out any such relationship which may afterwards help the physicians for triage of the burn patients.
