A Study of death due to burn cases in Bhagalpur, Bihar

Abstract


 

Burn is an injury which caused by application of heat or chemical substance to the external or internal surfaces of the body which causes destruction of tissue. The present study was undertaken to find the demographic patterns of death due to burn in Bhagalpur, Bihar (India). This study included all the deaths due to burn reported in the department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, JLN Medical College examination during the year of 2018. A total of 81 deaths due to burn were studied and majority of the cases were found to be female. Shock was found to be the most common causes of death and most common age group involved between 21-30 years.
