Shastri Shankar Daji Pade: A Master Healer of AYUSH in the Modern Era

Abstract


The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, released a commemorative stamp in the honor of Shastri Shankar Daji Pade. He was honored as one among the twelve Master Healers of AYUSH systems from the modern era by the Union Ministry of AYUSH. He was one of the most prolific writers and an eminent physician of Ayurveda. He was honored due to his notable contributions to the development of Ayurveda. He devoted his entire life to the development and quality improvement of AYUSH. He authored, edited and published several books, research papers and magazines. He founded many organizations and institutions. His contribution is a milestone in the development of AYUSH. The present paper is an attempt to review the life and contribution of Shastri Shankar Daji Pade in the development of Ayurveda.
