Ardhavbhedak (Migraine) Treated By Anutaila Nasya Along with Internal Medicine

Abstract


Ardhavabedhaka is a Tridoshaja Shiroroga characterized by recurrent attacks of headache widely variable in intensity, frequency and duration. Attacks are commonly unilateral and usually associated with Nausea, Vomittinng and Bhrama (vertigo). Ardhavabhedak is one of the Shiroroga which can be correlated with migraine. Shodhankarma is necessary for a permanent cure to prevent recurrence diseases. "Nasa hi siraso dwaram tena taddapyahanthi tana". The nose is the gateway of the head so nasal route of administration of drugs proves to be effective in diseases of organ above the clavicle. Nasyakarma is the best procedure of Shodhana Karma which is indicated for Ardhavbhedak. Anutaila has a Tridoshaghna properties. So, Anutaila Nasya destroys the disease of head as well as Ardhavbhedak. In this study, a 45-year-old male patient was selected, based on the classical symptoms of Ardhavabhedaka since 1 year. He was then administered Shamana Chikitsa with selected medications, while undergoing Nasya Karma. Due to this treatment patient got complete relief from Ardhavbhedhak (Migraine) and found excellent result which is discussed in this case study.
