Study of Ambu in Relation to Pathophysiology

Abstract


Water is most abundant in human body. It circulates all over the body and provides the medium and solute gets dissolved in it. Without water, there can be no existence of life and it acts as a volume conductor. In society, it seems to be considered as beneficial if taken in excess amount but not actually as beneficial as the society thinks in respect to obey the instruction of general physician in practices. There are two sources of water in body, one is water as such from external and second is fruits and vegetables. In Ayurveda, water has a dominance of Apyamah Abhuta. Intake of water should be taken in appropriate and adequate amount. Normally water is taken in between the meal and avoided before and after meals. Excess of water changes the pathological state and incorporates the cause of certain diseases. Appropriate utilization leads to rasayana.
