Due to less resistance against disease causing organism and not adaptability against environment, leads to body protecting phenomenon produces cough. The aim is to study the effect of Karpuradya Churna on Ekdoshaja type cough. Thirty patients were selected from Arogyashala hospital Jaipur, with classical symptom of cough. 9 gm/day Karpuradya Churna was given at the time of meal in three divided doses with honey with follow up of seven days. The assessing symptoms are Suṣkakasa, Kaphamsuskam-kricchanamuktvalpatavrajet, Ksinabala, Suskakantha, Suskavaktra, Pitanisthivanaksitvam, Urodhumayana, Trisna, Bhrama, Tiktasyatvaṃ, Bahulamnisthivati, Pinasa, Gaurava, Vaksahsampurnamivamanyate, Utklesa and Asyamadhurya. These are graded as 0, 1, 2 and 3, respectively with no symptoms, mild, moderate and severe symptoms, by Darshana and Prashnapariksha followed by heamatological test. For statistical analysis we applied the ‘Wilcoxon signed rank sum test’ for evaluation of subjective data and paired ‘t’ test for evaluation of objective data. The symptoms like Suṣkakasa, Kaphamsuskam-kricchanamuktvalpatavrajet, Suskakantha, Suskavaktra, Trishna, Tiktasyatvam, Pinasa, Gaurava, Vaksahsampurnamivamanyate and utklesa had highly significant results. While symptoms like Pitanisthivanaksitva, Urodhumayana, Bhrama, Bahulamnisthivati, Asyamadhurya had no significant result. The objective parameter had significant result in Total Leucocyte Count, Neutrophils and Lymphocyte. Conclusion shows that, Karpuradya Churṇa with honey was able to cure Kasa with significant extent and has mucolytic, demulcent actions and it also has antitussive.
