To Evaluate the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Blood Donation

Abstract


Aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme (power point presentation) on knowledge and attitude regarding blood donation among the B.Ed. students selected colleges at, Kanyakumari District. The study used a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design. The study was conducted in selected college of education; Kanyakumari District. The sample consisted of 77 B.Ed. students. The study participants were chosen using a convenience sampling method. The tool used in the study was Knowledge Questionnaire. It consisted of 30 questions on the knowledge regarding blood donation and attitude scale it consisted of 12 items. Results shows that the pre-test mean value of knowledge is 16 and standard deviation is 10–8 and post-test mean value of knowledge is 11 and standard deviation is 7.6. The computed ‘t’ value is 3.786 and the table value is 2.78 at p<0.01. The pre-test mean value of attitude is 17 and standard deviation is 11.6 and post-test mean value of attitude is 6 and standard deviation is 3.54. The computed ‘t’ value is 3.878 and the table value is 2.94 at p<0.01. The study brought out the following conclusion that 62.5% had adequate knowledge, 30% had moderate knowledge and 7.5% had inadequate knowledge after the planned that there was a significant gain in knowledge and changes in attitude regarding blood donation after the planned teaching programme
