Exploration of “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” in Fostering the Health: A Review Study

Introduction: Patanjali advises us “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” to make efforts to prevent those miseries that are yet to occur thus giving us a vital clue about the importance of preventive action in avoiding future sorrows. He further stated that the cause of pain is the union between the seer and the seen. This unyielding bondage that causes all suffering is in fact ultimately due to Avidya, ignorance of reality. In this review study various literature from Yoga, Ayurveda, and trusted online journals were deeply studied. The present study was conducted with the Objective: of seeking the importance of “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” the concept in the prevention of diseases and to explore the importance of Dinacharya as a primordial preventive measure in psychosomatic disorders. On Review: this yogic concept is adopted and advised in Ayurveda in the form of “Anagata Badha Pratishedham” which is capable of preventing the upcoming diseases of the future. Result and Discussion: All this process is performed by some specific ingredient that prevents related systemic disorders. The present review study concluded that the concept of “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” is literally showing its preventive capability of all the psychosomatic ailments from the life of people.
