Study on Ethnomedicinal Uses of Gymnostachyum febrifugum (Benth)
Abstract
Ethnotherapeutics in drug development is gaining much importance in recent days. Medicinal plants plays on important role in drug development and folklore practice. The herb called Nelamuchchala (Gymnostachyum febrifugum Benth) is one among such folk medicine belonging to Acanthacea family which is traditionally used for fever, ulcers, cough, metrorrhagia and stomatitis. References regarding this herb are available in the books of modern era.
