Square Shape CPW Antenna for Breast Cancer Detection

Praveen Kumar Rao, Rajan Mishra

Abstract

In this study, a antenna design is proposed to detect the breast cancer tissues by using microwave imaging based on the contrast in electrical properties of healthy fatty Breast tissues. The designed antenna is affordable as a primary health observation and has no health risk. A highly directive flexible structure is presented for microwave imaging which can be used in clinical diagnosis. To detect the tumour in a breast phantom, finally two prototypes of the antenna are used along with the feasible signal processing technique. The planned structure operate on the basis of an UWB characteristic providing aver essential bandwidth of concerning 2.4 GHz to 4.6 GHz.

Keywords: UWB, IDFT, Delay-Multiply-and–Sum (DMAS) algorithm.
