Abstract

Understanding lasers today will simply the future of dentistry tomorrow. Lasers are our tools for tomorrow so this article presents the review of literatures we have till date today. Times back from Egyptian mummies to recent advances in dental field had travelled through many innovations. We orthodontists will familiar with the term LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) however its application in the field is yet to be discovered. Thus, this article is an attempt to update the knowledge on lasers, their harmful effects and various possible uses in Orthodontic field.
