Unilateral Transmigrated Canines with Associated Pathologies in Mandible: a Case Report

K. Srinivasan

Abstract

Pre-eruptive migration of the tooth across the midline is termed “transmigration”. Tooth impaction is a common dental condition frequently reported in the literature. The most commonly impacted teeth were reported as third molars, maxillary canines, maxillary central incisors, and premolars. Canine play an important role in aesthetics and function in human dentition. Transmigration is defined as the migration of impacted tooth crossing the midline to the opposite side of the arch. It is a very rare condition than a standard impaction case typically affects the mandibular canines. The present study discusses a case of a 12-year-old adolescent male with unilateral transmigrated canines managed with surgical removal of tooth and cyst enucleation.
