Abstract

The corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) a Nano-sized entity has led to a halt in our existence, confining and isolating the mankind. In spite of the regional and national lockdown being prevailed in most of the countries there still is a surge and swell in the number of cases and the graph is being increased continuously. New normality can be covered under three phases, starting with the preparatory phase which covers the healthcare worker’s prophylaxis against COVID-19, obligatory changes in the dental hospitals and the instruments that need to be procured during this era of corona virus. Followed by the implementation phase of Tele-dentistry and Tele-triage as a first point of contact between patients and dentists to assist and mitigate OPD. Protocols beginning from patient’s arrival, their encounter at the reception area, aerosol and non-aerosol generating clinical procedure and at clinic closure. The last is the phase of follow up and review. As Orthodontists we have to balance our own safety with the commitment towards our patients. So, the aim of this review article is to provide a comprehensive compendium of COVID-19 on orthodontic treatment whether to fight with minuscule virus or flight away.
