Abstract

Abstract

The pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in Wuhan, China in December2019 is a highly infectious disease. Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the ongoing outbreak as a global public health emergency. Currently, the research on novel coronavirus is still in the primary stage. As no specific therapeutics and vaccines are available for disease control, the epidemic of COVID-19 is posing a great threat for global public health. Based on the current published evidence,
we summarizes the, history, virology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, laboratory characteristics, potential therapeutics and prevention of COVID-19and introduce the current state of development of measures. This review article on COVID 19 is helpful to understand different case studies of COVID 19 and providing a reference for future studies.
