A Review on Current Scenario and Update on Vaccine for Covid-19

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 pandemic is caused by SARS-CoV-2 . The SARS-CoV-2 is a beta coronavirus belonging to the family of Coronaviridae. The outbreak of novel coronavirus had a major impact on health care professionals like physicians, pharmacist, microbiologist etc. Current scenario of detection of SARS-CoV-2(COVID-19) is made through a nasopharyngeal swab based on RT-PCR technique. Some novel recent studies suggest the evidence of the possible role of fluid which is present in oral cavity and saliva in the detection of SARS-CoV-2. The purpose of this scoping review is evaluating the available evidence regarding the efficacy of saliva as a diagnostic specimen in COVID-19 patients. Early diagnosis of COVID-19 is the main principle of treatment, and to control and prevent its spread to community. Method: It is a selective review and research article. Conclusion: The main concern regarding epidemic prevention and control the spread of COVID 19 is rapid early diagnosis and screening of suspected patients. It allows understand that they are infected or not. Early detection of the infected person followed by isolation at the earliest possible is the only measure to prevent this disease. The purpose of this review is to collect and share the available effective diagnostic tools of COVID 19 and current development on vaccine for COVID 19.
