Kajal Alam, Jagriti Sharma, Avnish Kumar

Abstract

Probiotic strain, Lactobacillus casei was isolated from the probiotic suspension named as Yakult. Strains of Candida albicans were collected from the S.N. Medical College, Agra, India. The antagonistic effect of L. casei against C. albicans was dictated by utilizing the Kirby Bauer disc diffusion technique. Maximum zone of hindrance was estimated by the serial suspension of M.F.S. ≠1.0 against C.albicans and the medium zone of hindrance was seen in the serial suspension of M.F.S. ≠1/10 and nil or least action was found in the serial suspension of M.F.S. ≠ 1/100. Probiotics as a medication or a sustenance supplement present a medical advantage as well as shield us from the harmful pathogenic microorganisms.
