Study on the Treatment of Chronic Tonsillitis by Moxibustion at Sojijol Acupoint of Human Body

Abstract


Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of moxibustion at Sojijol acupoint on the improvement of the subjective and objective symptoms of the patients with chronic tonsillitis. Materials and Methods: In total, 90 patients with chronic tonsillitis were included in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups: the study group and the control group. The patients in the study group received three times of cauterization at Sojijol acupoint once a day for a week, while those in the control group received at Sosang acupoint. The patients in both groups also underwent the local treatment. Results: The subjective and objective symptoms were significantly improved in the study group compared with the control group. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that moxibustion at Sojijol acupoint is more effective than at Sosang acupoint to treat the chronic tonsillitis.
