To know the Heart-brain Axis Response in COVID-19 Patients: A Expressive Perspective for Curative Progression

Vaishnavi K. Patil, Roshan B. Badhe, Azam Z. Shaikh

Abstract

An in-depth description of cardiovascular communication in critically ill patients with severe respiratory disease attracts significant interest during the course of CoronaVIrus Disease 19 (COVID-19) during ICU stay or after hospital discharge. Emerging research has provided new insights into the pathogenic role of heart-brain axis (HBA) eradication, information flow from both sides, which has led to robust multiorganic disease (MODS) in patients with a confirmed disease with acute acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Significantly, HBA dysfunction can damage the effects of COVID-19 patients. In this review, we discuss the critical role HBA plays in both promoting and limiting MODS to COVID-19. We also highlight the role of HBA as the new target of new therapeutic strategies in COVID-19 to unlock new translation barriers to care. This is a translation idea from the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Researches.
