There is currently no widely accepted approach to enhance the rate of wound healing for scald
burn injuries, despite the numerous factors that can contribute to the wound becoming chronic
and non-healing. Various modalities are used to accelerate the rate of healing, like platelet rich
plasma, local infiltration of insulin, irritant substances, laser therapy et al. This study aims to
explore the potential benefits of utilizing Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (APRP) as a
supplementary treatment in plastic surgery, specifically in managing skin grafted sites and
reducing complications such as graft contracture, hypertrophy, and ulceration. With its abundant
growth factors, APRP has the capacity to serve as an adjunct therapy to improve outcomes across
different Plastic Surgery cases.
