Examining Thiocolchicoside from a Surgical Perspective

Samina Rajjak Mulla, Pramod B Chikkodi1, Pramod B Chikkodi1

Abstract

Thiocolchicoside functions as a muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic agent, effectively preventing and alleviating muscle spasm. It is widely recognized analgesic that effectively alleviates muscle pain and low back pain. This medication typically begins with the administration of paracetamol. For the alleviation of symptoms associated with low back pain, it is common practice to utilize a combination of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), analgesic, and muscle relaxants. Low back pain (LBP), a highly prevalent condition among the middle-aged population, is typically linked to muscle spasm. These spasms are responsible for the occurrence and persistence of pain. Muscle spasms involve involuntary partial contractions of the muscles, which disrupt their functionality and contribute to muscular disorders.
