Abstract

Plantar fascia is plantar aponeurosis, lies superficial to the muscles of plantar surface of the foot. Plantar fascia has a thick central part which covers the central muscle of first layer. It is a comparative study design; a sample of 50 patients was included in the study with the pre-test and post-test study design. Subjects were assigned in two groups, A and B. Group A received calcaneal taping and group B received manual therapy. It has been recorded from the study that use of manual therapy and calcaneal taping produces significant improvement in relief of pain in patients with plantar faciitis. It can be seen that use of manual therapy in patients with plantar fasciitis is more beneficial in relieving heel pain.
