Abstract

Lipase is a class of enzymes that catalyze as, hydrolysis of long-chain tri-glycoside and comprise the large significant group of bio-catalysts for biotechnological applications. Currently, the cold-active lipases (CLPS) are the enzyme of choice for pharmacists, organic chemists, biochemical, biophysicists and engineering processes, bio-technologists and micro-biologists as well as biochemists. The production of CLPs is mostly existed from psychrophilic microorganisms. Psychrophiles and psychrotrophs extracellular colds-active enzymes at low temperature (cold) have higher enzymatic activity as compared to their mesophilic and thermophilic ones. In this work, 3 psychrotrophic fungal strains were collected from laboratory stock, such as Penicillium canescens (F4), Pseudogymnoascus roseus (F6), and Truncatella angustata (F5). These fungal strains were screened in a minimal synthetic medium (pH 6.5) supplemented with Tween-80 as a sole carbon source and were used for the producing of extracellular lipases. The fungi Penicillium canesens and Truncatella angustata after a 5 days incubation period exhibited better growth as compared to fungi Pseudogymnoascus roseus.
