Treatment Option for COVID-19

Since the emergence of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China, it has been a challenge for medical fraternity in respect of prevention and treatment. Various treatment modules are in vogue but all are supportive and based on hit and trial design. Hardly if any from advanced stage is recovered. Outcome with supportive and assumptive treatments is better and almost all recovered from COVID-19 infection are from mild to moderate categories. Presently Hydroxychloroquine, Doxycycline, Ivermectin, Dexamethasone, other antibiotics and ventilation are prevalent treatment modalities in different countries. In India and China, alternate therapists are also doing their efforts against containment of COVID-19. Unani system is one of AYUSH components in India. A decoction of Unani medicine has got fame for its efficacy in Maharashtra state of India. Some evidences of efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are also documented from China. In present study, efficacy of a Unani formulation in halting the progress and curative potential is documented.
