Brinhaniya Dravyas Impact on Karshyata

Karshya is a medical disorder that has an association to malnutrition. This illness causes a progressive emaciation of the body. Furthermore,
it is an Apatarpanjanya Vyadhi. Karshya has been classified as having a nutritional deficiency among the eight purush (socially undesirable people)
listed by Charaka. The main causes of Karshya include Rasa Dhatu, Rukshaannapan, Langhana, Promitasan, etc. Nitambshosh, Udarshosh,
Grivashosh, Twacha evam asthimatra drishtigochar hona. Sira evam dhamaneejaal Drishtigochar hona and Daurbalya were assessed by grading 0,1,2,3,4 as normal, mild, medium, moderate and severe. Objective parameter Weight, Arm, Neck, Thoracic Region, Abdomen, Sphik, Jangha, Pindika Measurement were done before and after treatment. Brinhaniya dravya 10-gram bd with milk for two months provided. Subjective parameter analyzed by mann whiteny U test and objective parameter assessed by student “t” test. The Nitamb shosh, Udar shosh and Daurbalya p value is less than 0.01, objective parameter weight, thickness in arm and Pindika of leg p value is less than 0.01 considered as significant. The Brinhaniya Dravya has efficacy in weight, thickness in arm and Pindika of leg also useful in Shosh and Daurbalya.
