Role of Panchkarma in Stri Roga

Abstract

There is significant role of Panchkarma in stri roga and prasuti tantra. Before starting any drug management, use of Panchkarma is said to be beneficial in almost any gynaecologic pathology, especially in Yoni Vyapada, Artava Dushti, Bandhayatva, Granthi, Arbuda, etc. Besides it, there is an important role of some of Panchkarma procedures in prasuti tantra also. Role of Asthapana and Anuvasana Basti in eighth and ninth month of pregnancy are undoubtedly beneficial. Use of Panchkarma in Stanya Dushti is specifically mentioned. Besides it, there is massive use of Uttarbasti, Yoni Dhavan, Yoni Pichu Dharana both in Stri and prasuti tantra. This paper is all about references related to Panchkarma in stri roga and prasuti tantra and a scientific evaluation of use of these procedures.
