Abstract

Heart is considered key to the lock of life which gives sustenance to the body—physically as wellas emotionally.Mortality rate of CHD is held responsible for more deaths. Coronary artery disease (CAD) develops when major blood vessels that supply heart become damaged or diseased. Cholesterol-containing deposits (plaques) in coronary arteries and inflammation are usually to blame for coronary artery disease. The coronary arteries supply blood, oxygen and nutrients to heart. Coronary artery disease is the common type of heart disease. It is the leading cause of death in the United States in both men and women. CAD happens when the arteries that supply blood to heart muscle become hardened and narrow.
