Exposure to Chemicals in Cosmetics and Women’s Health

The concept of cosmetics is very old and they are in use since ancient times. The proliferation and use of cosmetics have increased manifold in modern times. The cosmetic industry has got a large chunk of the global economy. Modern cosmetics are made up of chemicals, many of which are hazardous to human health. Beauty products such as nail products, skin care products, hair products, lipsticks, oral hygiene, fragrances and which may contain toxic chemicals that can be dangerous for the health of women. The paper has been restricted to a review of some of the chemicals used in cosmetics and their effect on health.
