Abstract

Background  Episiotomy is a surgical incision to the perineum in order to enlarge the vaginal orifice during the second stage of labor.

But the shape and transit angle of blood vessels and nerves on perineum is variable according to the form and size of the pelvis.

The aim of our study is to invent the variant mediolateral episiotomy guide according to the form and size of the pelvis.

Methods For the fabrication of the mediolateral perineal incision guide, the measurement of the morphological changes of the perineum during delivery was performed with 150 patients of aged 20 years above.

Conclusions The size of the ischial tubercles-posterior labial commissure shaft part, the pubic symphysis-posterior labial commissure shaft component and the pubic symphysis-ischial tubercles connecting shaft component were 8cm, 13cm and 12cm, width was 1cm, the length of guide ulcus was 2, 4, 1.5cm, the width is 0.5cm, the diameter of fixation screw were 0.8cm.
