Abstract

Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) are known to have high loco regional recurrence with distant mets being rare. However, distant metastasis are showing an increasing trend due to the improved locoregional control rates achieved with surgery and radiotherapy. The usual sites of distant failure are lung, liver, bone, adrenal, heart and kidney. Here is presented a case of buccal SCC presenting with unusual distant soft tissue mets after several years of diagnosis.
