The Effect of the 632.8 nm Laser Blood Irradiation on PASI, TC and TG in Patients with Psoriasis Vulgaris
Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study is to study the effect of the 632.8nm laser blood irradiation (LBI) on PASI, TC and TG in patients with psoriasis vulgaris. Patients and methods: A total of 90 cases of psoriasis vulgaris were divided into 3 groups according to the paths of laser irradiation: Intravenous Laser Blood Irradiation (ILBI: A Group), nasal mucous irradiation (B Group), no irradiation (C Group). All patients were treated by placebo with sodium bicarbonate (100mg/d) for 8 weeks while they were irradiated. Result: In all groups, the psoriasis area and severity index, total cholesterol and triglyceride decreased. Significant decreases were observed in A and B group. The psoriasis area and severity index are related with total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum. Conclusion: The 632.8nm laser blood irradiation has therapeutic effect on psoriasis vulgaris via regulating total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum.
