Coronavirus – a Journey from Unknown to Known

Abstract
Globally, a unique virus, novel coronavirus-19 affected the humanity in year of 2019. The virus resulted in a pandemic condition. The disease widespread affects the population of all age group. According to updated data, virus results in high mortality rate. Globally 4, 69,587 deaths and 8,993,659 confirmed cases were reported to WHO. The clinical manifestations includes respiratory symptoms and include fever, cough and shortness of breath. In critical
condition, infection can cause pneumonia, SARS and sometimes death. According to survey one out of five is expected to be coronavirus. In India, about 7 lakh cases of COVID-19 are confirmed with as of July 7, 2020, resulting in over 19,693 deaths and total recovered patients are 424K. Treatment for the patients of coronavirus includes antipyretics and steroids. In 2012, first case of MERS-CoV was reported in Saudi Arabia which was originated from bats. The disease can be prevented by maintaining proper hygiene and maintaining social distancing with the infected people, sanitizing your hand frequently and wearing mask when
going outdoors. Some companies nowadays promising to provide medicines for treatment of COVID-19. Both, Ayurveda and allopathy companies formulated coronavirus medicine. Glenmark introduces one antiviral drug (Favipiravir) promising for treating patients with coronavirus.
