Abstract

In 2013, an estimated 6.3 million live born children worldwide died before the age of 5 years. In 2015, the under-five mortality rate in low-income countries was 76 deaths per 1000 live births. The importance of under nutrition as an underlying cause of child deaths associated with infectious diseases, and the effects of multiple concurrent illnesses have been emphasized in many studies across the world particularly in the developing countries. It also highlights the necessity of conducting studies relating health status of such children. The study needs to be conducted among the under-five population in an urban city after completing all the formalities, i.e. the information regarding the health status of the subject and needs analysis.
