Abstract

Acne vulgaris is affecting quite 85% percent of adolescents and young adults. It is very common skin disorder.A current systematic review of the epidemiology of acne worldwide has noted a disease with skin prevalence estimates ranging from just 20% to more than 95%. In the Greek system of medicine, acne vulgaris is called busoor labania, which is a white rash on the nose and face that represents drops of milk or congealed butter (Roghan zard) because of the foul-smelling discharge of sadia or pus that adheres to the skin for exclusion at the side of ghaleez bukharat .The present review paper is an attempt to focus only on the acne vulgaris concept in Unani literature as described by several well-known Unani physicians.
