Babchi, or Psoralea corylifolia Linn, has been used in the Unani System of Medicine for centuries due to its numerous medicinal properties. This plant is highly valued for its ability to effectively treat various types of diseases, especially those related to the skin. Unani physicians have long recognized the therapeutic potential of Babchi seeds, which have been traditionally used for its numerous medicinal benefits. Its seeds, in particular, have been highly valued by Unani physicians as a treatment for a wide range of diseases, particularly those affecting the skin. Babchi seeds have been found to be particularly effective in treating skin conditions such as Da-us-sadaf (Psoriasis), Bahaq (Pityriasis), Bars(Leucoderma), and Tap-e Balghamiya (Phlegmatic fever), as well as for treating intestinal worms (Deedan-e-Am'aa). Research has shown that the plant extracts possess multiple therapeutic properties including antibacterial, antioxidant, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and immunomodulatory activities.
