Impact of Age on Female Fertility: An Observational Cross Sectional Study

Abstract


Age at marriage has significant influence on fertility, but the complexities of this relationship are poorly understood, especially during fertility transitions. This paper investigated the complex relationship between age and fertility and observed the influence of age on female fertility. The study population consisted of 75 infertile women who sought medical treatment in the Gynae OPD of NIUM Hospital and were selected. For data collection a detailed reproductive history regarding the infertility was collected and analyzed. In the present study it was revealed that very young and average age of marriage patients were found maximum and older age at marriage were less, as both young and older age decreases the fertility.
