Malaria in Indian Perspective: A Review
Abstract
Malaria is in its pre-elimination stage in India. It is particularly widespread in low-income rural areas of eastern and northeastern states. In this scenario, community-based strategies are important for malaria control. In order to intensify elimination activities, we need to have a better awareness of malaria in the rural areas. Though there are facilities available in the urban population, due to unhygienic surroundings of slum areas, increase in the waste and population density awareness in required in urban areas too.
