Formulating Pure Natural Polyherbal Hair Dye Preparation for Improved Coloring and Superior Protection Attributes as Compared to Marketed Products

Abstract
The commercial synthetic hair dyes include permanent coloring agents like amino compounds (meta-aminophenol, 4-amino-2-hydroxytoluene, etc.), aromatic diamine, polycompounds (para-phenylenediamine), hydric phenols, etc. that precipitates several adverse effects like erythema, skin irritation, skin cancer, loss or damage of hair, etc. In the traditional systems of medicines like Unani, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Siddha, the recommended hair dyes are wholly based on plant materials (extracts) and metal oxides (iron oxide, titanium dioxide, etc.). The hair colorants acquired from diverse plants are economic, simply available, rarely express side-effects, highly safe competent, etc. From the antique era, the herbal constituents such as indigo, saffron, amla, andheena, lohbhasm, etc. are concerned for dyeing, coloring, etc. The present research focuses on the development of coloring dye-containing herbal components such as Red Spinach leaf (Amaranthus dubius), Aloe vera leaf (Aloe barbadensis), Hibiscus flower (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis), and Beet root (Beta vulgaris). The formulations were further evaluated for skin irritation test, coloring effect on grey hairs, fastening property, and pH. However, auxiliary clinical and pharmaceutics explorations are fundamentally required to absolutely estimate its suitability, safety, clinical effects, stability, and broad range satisfactoriness in modern civilization.
