A Conceptual and Applied Study of Yojana Chatuska of Charak Samhita W.S.R to Atisthula Purusa

The science of a holistic living is ayurveda. Ayurvedic science focuses on both therapeutic and preventive aspects. The principles of Ayurveda have significant value in modern era The vedic literature and samhitas are the original and most important sources of knowledge. Charak samhita is no exclusion for this. Charak samhita is divided into eight sthanas. Each sthana is very important in its place but Sutra sthana showing glimpse all over the samhita. It is brain of whole treatise. Sutra sthana contains thirty chapters . The arrangement of thirty chapters of Sutra sthanas is divided into seven Chatushka and two Sangraha dvya. The nector of knowledge has been stored by charak in very beautiful way i.e Chatuska methodology. The Chatuska are the beautiful flowers decorated in the garland of Sutra sthana. Among all chatuskas Yojana chatuska is placed at 6th position. It asserts the Roga Bhesaja Yojana and gives a draft of the Yuktivyapasraya Chilkitsa, earning it a superior rank in comparison to the Charakshu Chilkitsa. Yojana chatuska is one of the beautiful flower decorating in the garland of sutra sthana. Yojana chatuska contains four chapters as like four petals of a beautiful flower. The majority of people today suffer from the disease sthoulya. It is due to the faulty dietary habits and unawareness. In sthoulya medodhatu is in a state of vriddhi.
