Abstract

In the present case study, a drug related adverse effect is observed and addressed during optimal therapy in Antiretroviral Therapy ward of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India. As a part of Doctor of Pharmacy profession, Manasa Rekha has identified dose related adverse effect and have taken to the notice of Physician and monitored the dose of drug by using therapeutic drug monitoring parameters and have provided patient counseling to the concerned patient. By this case study and report it is concluded that in India, there is increased work load on physicians who are unable to look over overall healthcare services, hence here is a chance for Doctor of Pharmacy professionals to explore their clinical pharmacy services this can decrease work load over physicians which can improve the overall health care of society. So, there is urgent need of Doctor of Pharmacy services to Indian Hospitals, so it is the responsibility of Indian Government to provide a responsibility cadre to Indian Doctor of Pharmacy professionals as soon as possible in order to improve the medical care in India.
