Treatment the pediatric rhinitis by CD(Cyclodextrin) garlic suspension

Objective: The goal of this study was to identify the effectiveness of vasoconstriction, anti-inflammation and antibiosis of CD garlic powder and to apply this to the treatment of pediatric rhinitis. Materials and Methods: Experimental study objects: Materials: CD garlic powder: we used the CD garlic powder made at Pyongyang Taeun Pharmaceutical Factory. Strain: Escherichia coli O111(ATCC No.25922), Staphylococcus aureus 209-P(ATCC No.25923) purchased from National Microbiological Institute (Pyongyang, DPR Korea). Media: Peptone broth medium, Agar medium. Experimental animals. Toad (20-25g), Spragues-Dawley rats(120-180g), Rabbits(over 1.5Kg) These animals were selected without distinction of sex. (Purchased from the experimental animal shed at Pyongyang University of medical sciences). Clinical study objects: We selected 110 pediatric patients less than 14 years old with chronic rhinitis, who have no complications and no serious deviation of nasal septum. Result: CD garlic powder has less irritation and has remarkable actions of anti-inflammation, antibiosis and vasoconstriction. The treatment effect of CD garlic suspension was 87.5% when it was swabbed nasal cavity mucosa.
